Stockport Race Equality Partnership
"Stockport Race Equality Partnership CIC (S-REP) aims to create opportunities to improve the integration of ethnically diverse people. Representation at key decision making levels to help decrease the inequalities that exist. We want to influence change and collectively build our community. Across the country, small community-led organisations, charities and individuals work hard to combat statistics like these: driving change, advocating fairness, tackling marginalisation and discrimination, and building equity within our systems. S-REP works as the thread that knits these brilliant people together. We work to: integrate communities in Stockport, influence decision-makers, improve health outcomes, tackle food poverty, align services and funding to better support EDCs, strengthen EDC-led organisations.
We work to bring different communities together, to learn from each other, reduce mistrust and generate positive relationships. We do this by running: 1) Knowledge forums, which are regular events that bring people from all backgrounds together, 2) Educational events at key times of the year, like Black History Month, Hate Crime Awareness Week, 3) Brave Spaces, which are cross-cultural conversations to help us build back better"
