Leadership Training

Last updated 27/11/25

Are you 17 +, with lived experience of seeking asylum, looking for training to become a youth leader? OSH runs a leadership training programme, which gives our members the chance to step up and gain the skills and confidence to facilitate activities, lead games and be role models to young people. Our Programme equips participants with vital leadership skills, which they can put into practice in a supported environment at our residential trips and in our weekly activities in Bristol. OSH is a peer-led youth movement, where leaders with lived experience of seeking asylum are at the heart. Participants join OSH, complete our Leadership Training Programme, lead for the first time, and inspire more participants to follow in their footsteps. Please get in touch if you are interested in this programme.

Residential Programmes

Last updated 27/11/25

At OSH we run residential trips throughout the year in Bristol and London, for young people with refugee/asylum seeker backgrounds aged 14-18. These residential experiences focus on personal development and informal education while also providing practical and creative workshops. The morning may be based around an educational activity, ranging from identity to leadership skills, or a nature walk. In the afternoon there may be workshops run by external facilitators on a combination of creative or practical skills, such as cooking, drama or sport. Each evening is different, we might have movie and music nights, campfires and dancing. Please get in touch if you want to be added to our mailing list to hear about upcoming trips and how to refer!
