Tameside Council Homeless Service
Tameside Council provides a homelessness service to help people in Tameside who are at risk of losing their homes or who are already homeless. They work with individuals and families facing various challenges, including financial difficulties, relationship breakdowns, or health issues.
The service offers support to find temporary accommodation and assist with applying for permanent housing. Referrals can come from local agencies, social services, or individuals seeking help directly. Once referred, clients receive tailored support to address their specific needs.
For example, the council can help individuals create a housing plan, offering advice on budgeting and managing debts. They may also provide emergency accommodation or connect clients with other local services, such as health care and employment support.
Additionally, Tameside Council runs prevention programmes to help stop homelessness before it happens. This includes offering mediation for families or advice on tenant rights.
