Asylum Seeker Mental Health Consultation Service
The Asylum Seeker Mental Health Consultation service helps service users understand their unique circumstances, and assist them with the asylum seeker processes. We advise on medication and treatment options. We help them to understand negative thinking and support them to look after themselves with practical and professional support. We also assist them with planning for the future, offering emotional and practical support often in difficult circumstances.
Our service accepts referrals from Salford GP, crisis teams, A & E liaison, primary care psychology, Salford Royal Hospital and self-referral for service users who are resident in the Salford area who have not yet secured a local GP service and need assistance to do so.

The Asylum Seeker Mental Health Consultation service can help diagnose and help the service users understand their condition and signpost to the appropriate services for treatment and support. The service also assists with planning for the future, offering emotional and practical support often in difficult circumstances.
The service also provide information on NHS services and assist patients to access health care, helps to solve problems offering practical support with form completion, housing application, and bus pass application, registration with GP, dentist or schools. They assist young adults to apply for college, offering support and encouragement with integration and activities.
