Caritas - Salford - The Lalley Centre - Collyhurst

"The Lalley is a vibrant Community Centre, food pantry and community allotment based in North Manchester where people come to get support to improve their lives. We support people with practical needs and in areas such as food support, wellbeing and housing.. Services include a weekly Food Bank – Wednesdays 10.30am – 11.30am; An Emergency Food Parcel service – via agency referral; Health and Well Being sessions on Friday afternoons (term time only); Welfare Benefits, Housing Advice, general support and information, free internet access via our computers and signposting to other services. Lalley Community Allotment, also known as Saint Joseph’s Allotment is part of the Lalley Welcome Centre. We are situated behind St. Malachy’s Primary School where we grow fruit and vegetables for our foodbank, volunteers and the wider community. You can explore the world of plants and fungi and learn how to grow anything from potatoes through sweetcorn to non-native plants like yakon and many more. No previous experience is needed! We also have a garden space where our aim is to provide a space for mental health and well-being. Apart from gardening you can also get involved with DIY projects, arts and crafts or just enjoy a cup of tea or cofee and biscuits. We aim to create a place of refuge from any form of negative thoughts or from the chaos of this fast paced world. We do that by FRIENDSHIPS, FUN & locally grown, tasty FOOD."
