"You will be connected to a trained call handler who will ask a few personal details and undertake an initial assessment. You may then, if deemed appropriate, speak to one of our dental nurses who will complete a further assessment over the phone and provide appropriate advice and a possible dental appointment. The service is provided according to strict clinical criteria, and when you call you'll be assessed bya memberofourclinicalteam. Urgent dental problems include the following conditions, which should receive self-help advice and treatment (where appropriate) with in 24 hours: • Dental and soft-tissue infections • Severe dental and facial pain: that is, pain that cannot be controlled by the patient following self-help advice • Fractured teeth or tooth The service operates from 20 different locations across Greater Manchester and patients can choose to be seen at the location most convenient for them. Please note, if you are given an appointment with a dentist, fees are payable for treatment under the NHS unless you receive certain benefits. There will be a minimum charge of £22.79 for the attention you receive during your appointment. If you are exempt from payment, please bring proof with you to the practice as our dentist will ask for evidence that you are entitled to free NHS dental treatment. Please ask the reception staff for further information. Please be aware that only cash payments can be accepted."
