Home-Start HOST
Home-Start is a charity that supports families with young children facing challenges in their lives. They work with parents who may be struggling due to issues like isolation, mental health difficulties, or financial problems. The service provides trained volunteers who visit families in their homes to offer emotional support, practical help, and guidance.
Home-Start aims to empower parents, helping them build confidence and develop parenting skills. For example, volunteers might assist with daily tasks, such as meal preparation or organising activities for children, and provide a listening ear for parents needing someone to talk to.
How to access
Many of our services are available to families across Oldham, Stockport, Tameside & Bolton, and some across Greater Manchester. Due to funding, however, some of our services are only available in certain areas – use the support finder on our wesbite to see what we offer in your area.
