Shelter - Manchester
Shelter Manchester is a charity that helps people facing housing problems, including those struggling with eviction, rent arrears, or unsafe living conditions. They offer free support and advice to anyone who is homeless or at risk of losing their home.
Services Include:
• Information Resource: Advice Support and Guidance (ASG): Specialist advice and support in housing, welfare benefits, debt and dealing with living in the private rented sector.
• Specialist advice: For complex issues that can’t be resolved by ASG, Shelter advisers offer specialist level advice and support on housing, debt and welfare benefits. Private Rented
• Sector service: Set up in response to Shelter’s Rogue Landlords Campaign, this service ensures that tenants are able to access the right advice and support. The support we offer is intended to help you to maintain and sustain your private tenancy or to move on in a planned way.
• Legal service: The Legal team offers specialist legal advice to individuals or families with housing problems who are eligible for legal help or Legal Aid in matters such as unlawful evictions and homelessness appeals. Our legal team can help if you are eligible for Legal Aid, for example, if you need to go to court about a housing problem or to challenge a council’s homelessness decision.
